Lucy and Blondie are home!!

We picked up our 8 week old puppies yesterday, but there were also goodbyes to their siblings and parents to be made.  You wonder what goes through their heads?  Have they any idea what adventures are ahead??  Below is sweet Blondie...
All set to go home as Kara cuddles with Lucy and Will cuddles with Blondie!
First trip to the back yard...
 And already lots of kisses!
 And belly rubs!
Both Lucy and Blondie were hungry from the trip home.
And "Daddy" has the magic touch in getting the puppies to nap!
Such sweet faces!!!  And lots of mischief to be had in the future!

Puppies!!

We decided to "start" looking at puppies having no idea how lucky we would be during our first trip out!!  It was quite a distance, but as you can see, well worth it!  Adorable puppies!!  Healthy, sociable, and home grown!
We ended up choosing two female beagle puppies...one a tricolor, the other a lemon/caramel color.
Ten puppies were in the litter...mommy dog nursing the 3 week old pups.
We pick this girl because she fell asleep!!  Watch her become a holy terror!!  Ha!
I love how the puppies have their legs stretched out behind them!

And we couldn't forget about dear old Dad "Ted" who was very proud of his puppies too!

Although it may seem so soon after losing our beloved Maggi, puppies sure put a smile on your face and reminds us that life does go on.  We will always remember Maggi...there will be no other...but there are new puppies to meet and get to know and distract ourselves with.  And I do think Maggi is ok with it...I dreamt Maggi was playing with a puppy a couple weeks ago.

We get to pick up the puppies December 22nd!  It will be an adventure for sure!!  I look forward to it!!!  Woof!

Finally...I got to go to Disneyland!!

Finally got to go "home" to Disneyland, my former employer!!  I really miss the place and it was so fitting that we went during their Halloween season since I never seen it decorated with pumpkins and different spooks before.
My Haunted Mansion was unrecognizable from when I worked there.  Totally taken over by the Nightmare Before Christmas.
Frank having a good time...good thing he had his hat to protect him from the hot sun.
Peter and Catherine all decked out in their CHOC shirts; earlier, they did a fund raising walk for the Children's Hospital.  And many thanks to Catherine's mom Teresa for getting us in the Park.
Mark Twain on the Rivers of America
And Walt holding hands with Mickey Mouse
A large winking Mickey pumpkin as we went from Disneyland to California Adventure
where we treated ourselves to hot dogs and ice cream.  A great time had by all.

D23 Disney Exhibit at the Ronald Reagan Library

Just a sampling of what you can see at the D23 Disney Exhibit at the Ronald Reagan Library located in Simi Valley, CA.  Walt Disney was a pioneer of animation and these pictures are just a few examples of what he created prior to his beloved Mickey Mouse.

Below is a replica of Walt Disney's office in Disney Studios.
There were also plenty of exhibits with props and items from the many movies Disney produced.
And a nice sampling of items from the Disneyland Park...I posed with this sad little bear who is just as sad as I am that the Bear Country Jamboree was replaced with Pooh many years ago.  I loved working that attraction...spooks and a pirate were also on display from the Haunted Mansion and the Pirates of the Caribbean as well as a boat and jalopy from Peter Pan and Mr. Toad's Wild Ride.
Oddly enough, we ran into an old friend of Kara's!!  What a surprise to run into Amanda!
Peter and his girlfriend Catherine were having a good time!
The gift shop has this cross stitch kit with a wonderful saying about a woman's strength...I have this kit somewhere that I had previously purchased.  I need to go find it!

Air Force One is anchored securely on large pillars.  You can board this great plane and see where President Reagan and his staff worked while being transported.  Jars of Jelly Bellies are also positioned throughout the aircraft...but not to sample!
Outside is a huge panel of the Berlin Wall.
 Here lies President Reagan...
And a wonderful view towards Moorpark where we live...nice to have a piece of history and a wonderful Disney exhibit for me to enjoy as I get so homesick for Disneyland where I once worked and met so many friends.
